Due to happenings around the world, more people now work from home.

So if you’re struggling with staying productive when working at home, here are eleven excellent routines to help you.A woman working from home on the laptop

1. Have a designated workspace

The first thing is to create a comfortable working area where you can concentrate and remain focused on the task. If you cannot afford a separate home office, you can designate a portion of the room or any comfortable area as a workplace.

And if possible, block off your working area with a door. Try to get rid of anything that will divide your attention while working.

Then, organize the place to have everything you need to achieve the task handy; writing desk, computer, printers, comfortable chair, paper, stationery. In addition, have drinking water nearby to stay hydrated.

Doing this will curb the need to get up frequently.

2. Keep To Regular Working Hours

Set regular work hours when to start work, take mid breaks, and end the day’s task.

If you find it challenging to stay productive during the day, try using time tracking apps like Toggl, Workflowmax, ResueTime. In addition, you can use the apps to note your best-performing time.

For example, I know I’m more productive early in the morning while my household is still asleep. And that’s when I researched and brainstormed new ideas for my blog.

Though it’s a brief period between 1-2 hours, I get most tasks done at this time than any other part of the day.

So note your most productive period and ensure you make the most of them.

3. Work Out Quiet Moment With Your Family

Let your spouse and children know when you need private time to concentrate on the task. Then, prioritize your activities and attend to the most important ones.

And if you have grown-up children, teach them to help out with simple chores in the house while you’re working.

4. Prepare For Each Day

Avoid walking around in your pajamas and slippers. For example, it might be tempting to work on the bed or the sofa.

Remember, you need to stay focused and avoid all forms of distraction. So, put on some lovely outfits, dress like you’re in a proper office, and prepare for the daily task.

5. Have a Daily Action Plan

Create a daily plan of your activities. Note down the crucial task for the day and prioritize according to their importance.

Get ready as you would while working in an office.

6. Take frequent breaks

If you want to stay productive and avoid feeling overwhelmed, consider going for short breaks. For example, for every hour you work, take a short 15-20minutes break to prevent burnout.

You can move around, take fresh air outside, keep hydrated.

In addition, plan for a more extended break after some work sessions. Now, you can interact with your family, chat with friends and check some important messages.

Taking breaks between work helps you energize and come up with fresh ideas for your business.

7. Eliminate Distractions

Receiving frequent phone calls, TV, and notifications from emails, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook can cause distractions.

So, let your family and friends know your working hours. Then, prioritize and set aside time to reply to all your messages except for emergency cases.

8. Reach Out To Other Bloggers

Connect with bloggers within your niche through Facebook groups, Pinterest, community.

9. Never Stop Learning

Learn something new every day. With that, you can quickly establish your authority within your niche.

It’s also essential to invest in training, courses, and programs to further help you reach your goals.

10. Reward Yourself

Celebrate your small wins; look at all you have achieved so far. Appreciate where you are now.

And work on your weak points.

Don’t forget to get enough sleep; it’s so easy to forget all about ourselves while working and taking care of the family.

Eat healthy food, have regular exercise, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

11. Unclutter after each day task

Set up your working area in the morning and always clear your desk at the end of each day. It keeps your working area neat and appealing to start the task of the day.

Find it difficult to organize your activities and tasks daily.
